Fueling Up on Low-Fat, High-Fiber Foods
Wednesday, October 7, 2020 6:00 PM to 7:15 PM

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and in honor of this I am rolling out the Evidence Based Food For Life Cancer Project classes! Join myself and Physicians Committee For Responsible Medicine to fight this together!

healthful diet and lifestyle can help you reduce your risk of breast cancer. That’s right. You don’t need to rely just on screening to find cancer. You can take four simple steps to make it less likely to start in the first place, or less likely to come back if you’ve already been diagnosed: Choose plant-based foods, exercise, limit alcohol, and aim for a healthy weight.

Chances are these steps will improve your health in other ways, too! You can cool inflammation in your body, reduce your risk of diabetes and heart attack, and feel better than you have in years

In this class you will learn that dietary fat not only hinders the immune system, it also drives hormone production, which can mean higher rates of hormone-related cancers such as breast and prostate cancers. Fiber helps your body rid itself of toxins, waste hormones, excess cholesterol, chemicals, and other undesirables. It is especially important in helping the immune system function properly, as well as facilitating the removal of waste from the body.

The Food for Life: Cancer Project classes offer a unique opportunity to acquire knowledge about the link between diet and cancer, experience the benefits of plant-based nutrition, and learn the practical cooking skills needed to help you on your journey to better health. In the Food for Life: Cancer Project classes, attendees do all of this while enjoying a cooking demonstration and tasting delicious, healthful dishes.--
