Join Kristin Bauer in Speaking Out for Chimpanzees
True Blood star Kristin Bauer is on CNN speaking out about the Great Ape Protection and Cost Savings Act. She discussed the recent release of a group of chimpanzees who spent the last 30 years in cages at a medical testing facility. The chimps, who were injected with the HIV virus, will live the remainder of their lives in an Austrian sanctuary.
More than 1,000 chimpanzees remain in U.S. laboratories. The Great Ape Protection and Cost Savings Act, a bill before Congress, would phase out invasive experiments on chimpanzees in the United States and release them to sanctuaries.
