Come Clean: Interactive Diagram of Cosmetic Ingredient Animal Tests

Come Clean: Skin Irritation and Corrosion Tests FAQs | Come Clean: Skin Irritation and Corrosion Tests Resources for Companies | Commonly Conducted Animal Tests | Come Clean Home

The tests pictured here are examples of animal tests that are likely done for new ingredients in cosmetic and personal care products, but are not done by all companies or for all products. We are asking companies that use animals to Come Clean on skin tests because alternatives can be implemented immediately.

Moves by Congress to increase the regulation of cosmetics, such as with the Safe Cosmetics Act, could cause the amount of animal testing to increase dramatically because many or all of these tests would likely be required for all ingredients.

The animals used in these procedures are always killed and examined at the end of the tests.
