New tool for cancer prevention & survival
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a wonderful opportunity
to discuss the many benefits of a healthy diet with your patients.
A newly redesigned PCRM Web site (www.CancerProject.org)
will help you do just that. Please send your patients here for easy-to-understand
and timely information about how good nutrition can help with cancer
prevention as well as survival.
The
site is jam-packed with simple and delicious vegetarian recipes,
fact sheets, and summaries of recent studies on diet. Please note
it also includes a downloadable version of PCRM’s comprehensive
new manual for cancer survivors, “The
Survivor’s Handbook: Eating Right for Cancer Survival.”
The manual is based on PCRM’s popular Nutrition and Cooking
Classes for Cancer Survivors, held in the D.C. area.
For more information, please contact Cancer Project managing director
Jennifer Reilly, R.D., at 202-686-2210, ext. 318, or jreilly@cancerproject.org.
