With the epidemic of childhood obesity showing no sign of reversing, PCRM is doing everything possible to educate parents that a vegetarian diet will not only help their child stay healthy, but slim as well.

This month, PCRM released a new public service announcement to TV stations around the country. “Dangerous” stars Ana Negrón, a family practice doctor from Philadelphia; Milton Mills, an internist from Virginia; Neal Barnard, PCRM president; and Carol Tavani, a Delaware psychiatrist, warning of the serious risks of an unhealthy diet. This “tell-it-like-it-is” public service announcement is one of an ongoing series about childhood obesity. In 2005, PCRM’s first spot on childhood obesity, “House Call,” aired nearly 15,000 times.
