Know any
good cooking teachers?
PCRM
is expanding its popular Food
for Life cooking class series to 15 states in 2005 and is looking
for help. The series, funded in 2003 by the Lance Armstrong Foundation
and in 2004 by Whole Foods Market, focuses on how a healthy and
delicious vegetarian diet can help prevent and treat cancer.
Begun in Washington, D.C., several years ago, the classes have
been taught primarily by PCRM staff. They have proved so successful,
we are looking for additional instructors to help us reach new communities.
PCRM provides training, materials, and a stipend.
If you know a good vegetarian cooking teacher in your area, or
if you're interested yourself, please contact Cancer Project director
Jennifer Reilly, R.D., at 202-686-2210, ext. 318, or jreilly@cancerproject.org.
Come help us celebrate. We’re
turning 20!
Join
Alec Baldwin and other celebrity PCRM supporters at our gala
20th Anniversary Celebration in Washington, D.C., on Saturday,
April 16, 2005. This not-to-be-missed event will be held at the
elegant Organization of American States’ House of the Americas,
just one block from the White House, and will feature a gourmet
vegan feast, first-class entertainment, and inspiring presentations
by a host of luminaries. Themed “The Art of Compassion: Celebrating
20 Years of Responsible Medicine,” the black-tie gala will
use the visual, performing, and culinary arts to spotlight PCRM’s
achievements.
In addition to the evening festivities, we’re planning a
full morning of educational sessions, including cooking classes,
media training, and exhibits of state-of-the-art technologies in
medical research and education. Please join us for this very special
opportunity.
For more details, please contact special events manager Debbi Miller
at 202-686-2210, ext. 340, or dmiller@pcrmfoundation.org.
