Book About Junk-Food Addictions
Released in Paperback
Author Neal Barnard, M.D., explains biochemical
basis of some food cravings
In a series of public talks in eight
major cities, nutrition expert Neal
Barnard, M.D., will explain why so many Americans are hooked
on junk food. Dr. Barnard, who was recently featured in “Super
Size Me,” the hit documentary about a man who ate nothing
but McDonald’s for 30 days, will offer new information about
how certain foods can actually be physically addictive. The lectures
are based on Dr. Barnard’s latest book, Breaking the Food
Seduction, which is just about to be released in paperback.

Breaking the Food Seduction: The Hidden Reasons Behind Food
Cravings and Seven Steps to End Them Naturally by Neal Barnard,
M.D., is published by St. Martin’s Press. The book includes
dozens of gourmet vegetarian recipes by cookbook author Joanne Stepaniak.
AUTHOR DETAILS: Neal Barnard, M.D., is a nutrition
researcher and adjunct associate professor of medicine at George
Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. He
is also the president of the Physicians Committee for Responsible
Medicine and the author of seven books on diet and health, including
Foods that Fight Pain and Food for Life.
His most current nutrition research is being funded by the National
Institutes of Health.
