Kyle Ash, M.A., LL.M.
Kyle Ash, M.A., LL.M., is government affairs manager for the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM), a nationwide organization of physicians and laypersons that promotes preventive medicine, especially good nutrition, and addresses controversies in modern medicine, including ethical issues in research.
As government affairs manager, Mr. Ash develops, coordinates, and directs legislative initiatives that complement and reinforce PCRM’s existing nutrition and research programs. Mr. Ash holds regular meetings with the offices of members of Congress, cooperates with other advocacy organizations, researches complex policy and legislative issues, and communicates with PCRM’s members on how they can effect change by contacting their elected officials.
In 2007, Mr. Ash focused his policy work on the Farm Bill. His research led to the creation of materials now being used by other organizations and members of Congress. In November 2007, Mr. Ash spoke about agricultural subsidies and nutrition at the American Public Health Association’s Food Policy Conference.
Mr. Ash received his law degree from the University of Kent at Brussels in Belgium and a master’s in global environmental policy from American University in Washington, D.C. He received a bachelor’s in international affairs from Lewis and Cark College in Portland, Ore. Before joining PCRM, Mr. Ash worked as a lobbying strategist at the European Environmental Bureau.
Mr. Ash’s reports and presentations have been published in several journals, including the Animal Law Review and Environmental Change and Security Program Report (2007).
