March 20, 2008 The show starts with the final four contestants, but additional firings brings the field down to two with Donald Trump announcing, “I want to see these two guys go at it!” But Donald also knows they can’t do it alone, and brings back four favorite players—including Marilu Henner, who has been playing for PCRM. Once again, it’s three-on-three, and the teams must create a grand charity event. Marilu’s team is tasked with décor and dealing with the entertainment. The opponents must handle the catering and produce the live charity auction. The teams will be judged on the number of tickets sold, the amount of money raised during the auction, and how well each team runs their part of the event. This should be a slam dunk for Marilu who has shined at two PCRM charity events. Just 60 minutes remain, and the season will be over...Be sure to watch the live finale next week when we find out who will become the Celebrity Apprentice! February 22, 2008 After last week’s shake-up on Celebrity Apprentice, Marilu Henner, playing for PCRM, gets moved to team Hydra. Marilu becomes the project manager in a task that required each team to write, produce, and direct a 10 minute live segment for one of the nation’s leading home shopping channels. In the end, the other team sells more units and makes more money selling their product, partially by utilizing a payment structure that allowed customers to break up the payments over several months. Marilu’s team is defeated, and Donald Trump has little choice but to fire Marilu, since she was the project manager. Even in doing so, Donald said, “I think Marilu is terrific!” And we do, too! “I’m feeling great because I played the game with integrity, energy, passion, and resilience,” said Marilu. We are very proud of the magnificent job Marilu did representing PCRM during her stint on Celebrity Apprentice. Her dedication to health and well-being through good nutrition are certainly evident in her energy and enthusiasm. Over the years Marilu has gone out of her way to help PCRM promote our mission of preventive medicine through a plant-based diet and higher ethical standards in medical training, testing, and education—and for that we are very grateful. Donald Trump restructures the camps on this week’s Celebrity Apprentice, as the teams head to New York’s Central Park to raise money for charity. Marilu Henner, playing for PCRM, is very happy with her new team. “Everyone is working really, really hard, and more than that, everyone is having fun,” she said. The shake up forces two archrivals to team together, with fights that caused even Lenox Lewis to flinch. Despite all this, team Hydra still raises the most money and wins the challenge. In the most difficult boardroom to date, Donald Trump acknowledges the hard work, camaraderie, and true altruism of team Empresario. And, of Marilu in particular, he notes, “…everybody loves her! I love her!” Each team member is asked whom they might fire, but with the utmost respect for one another, no one can point a finger. When Trump asks if anyone would like to resign, each valiantly declines. They are playing for their favorite charities, and the stakes of the game are just too high. “This team really understands that this all about charity, and I’m feeling charity,” announces Donald. In an unprecedented move never before seen on any season of The Apprentice, Donald Trump says, “Tonight in the boardroom, I’m firing no one. This is the first time I’ve done this.” Marilu and her teammates “live for yet another day.” Next week the teams get shuffled and shipped off the Pennsylvania for their next task. February 8, 2008 On this week’s episode of Celebrity Apprentice, the creativity of Team Empresario is called into question when each team has to create a “living window” display for a top American designer’s launch into designing mattresses. Marilu Henner, who is playing for PCRM, is tasked with overseeing the construction of the wedding-themed display. The designer, best known for creating wedding dresses for the world’s most glamorous women, thinks the display is beautiful! Once again, Team Hydra wins this task with a more creative concept. Marilu’s high-energy style proves to be too much for project manager Omarosa, and Marilu is brought into the Boardroom. Marilu’s communication skills are called into question, but in the end Donald Trump realizes that Marilu is a great asset to her team and fires someone else. Stay tuned next week, when the teams are off to the races in Central Park. February 1, 2008 In this week’s task, the teams had to design an awareness campaign, including a collection receptacle, for a company’s shoe recycling campaign. Marilu’s simple and effective winning slogan, “SolesUnited. Share the Love,” received much praise from her teammates. The slogan, an enormous collection box shaped like a shoe, and the use of teammate and supermodel Carol Alt all helped to propel Team Empresario to a resounding victory. It is a great testament to Marilu that all the members of her team professed deep trust in her, as she single-handedly had to deal with the traitor from the other team. The women clearly enjoyed sipping their well-deserved glass of champagne and relaxing a bit before they gear up for next week’s task: creating a ‘living window’ display for a top American designer. We can’t wait to see if this will be a window of opportunity for Marilu Henner and PCRM. January 25, 2008 In her first task as project manager, Marilu Henner, playing Celebrity Apprentice on behalf of PCRM, skillfully lead Team Empresario in the task of selling tickets to Broadway shows on the streets of Manhattan. As with everything she does, Marilu Henner pulled out all the stops; even calling in David Hyde Pierce, the Tony Award winning actor and star of the Broadway hit show, Curtains, to come help Team Empresario sell tickets. In the end, Team Hydra outsold the women by less than $2,000, but that was enough to leave Team Empresario in the dust. In the boardroom Ivanka Trump said it best: “Marilu has to stay if this team has a chance of victory at any point. She’s really their only shot. I think she’s smart, and I think she tends to come up with the big ideas. Without her, we can write off next week.” The Donald agreed; and we couldn’t agree more! We look forward to seeing Marilu next week when a shocking celebrity scandal rocks the boardroom! January 18, 2008 Marilu Henner is holding strong for PCRM, despite Team Empresario’s third defeat in the most recent episode of the Celebrity Apprentice. Former KISS front-man, Gene Simmons, moved over to lead the women in a task that required them to develop a marketing campaign for a photo printer and its revolutionary value-priced ink. But they missed the mark by not grasping the fundamental message the client was trying to convey, and in the end, Gene was fired. In the boardroom, Marilu said it best when she noted that, “The rocket was set in the wrong direction in the beginning because we weren’t able to go to that meeting.” The actress, author, health advocate, and savvy businesswoman understands the importance of listening to the client – whether it’s a multi-million dollar international corporation, a nonprofit, or an individual trying to makeover their life and health through diet changes. Watch next week as Marilu gets fired-up to sell tickets to a Broadway show! January 11, 2008 The second episode of the Celebrity Apprentice pitted the men (team Hydra) against the women (team Empresario) in a challenge to create a 30-second public service announcement for an animal adoption program. Marilu Henner continues to utilize her leadership strengths and was an integral part of team Empresario’s heartfelt ad which told the story—from the dogs' points of view—of three different dogs who had to be given up by their families. Marilu provided voice talent for her team’s ad, but even The Donald felt that her image would have been far more powerful at driving home this important message. Both teams did a great job of bringing to light the need for people to consider adoption when choosing a companion animal, but in the end, team Hydra effectively used their celebrity, and was victorious in this challenge. We look forward to next week, when one of the men joins team Empresario in their next challenge for charity. January 4, 2008 Marilu Henner was the shining star last night in the premiere episode of The Celebrity Apprentice. The action-packed season opener pitted the men (team Hydra) against the women (team Empresario) in a challenge to raise money for charity on the streets of New York City. Marilu Henner took the initiative for the women by calling in her personal contacts and single-handedly raised over $11,000 of the $17,038.79 raised by Team Empresario. When Donald Trump asked the question, "Who stepped up?" the answer in the boardroom was, "Marilu!" despite the fact that the men's team ultimately won this challenge. Kudos and heartfelt thanks to Marilu Henner for "stepping up" time and again for PCRM, and especially for choosing to support us in such a public way. We can't wait to see her shine again next week!
