Attend the International Conference on Diabetes
On July 18 and 19 in Washington, D.C., the Physicians Committee will host the International Conference on Diabetes. The conference brings together leading experts to share their research on how nutrition and diet can help treat type 2 diabetes.
In the United States, diabetes rates have risen to epidemic levels. More than 29 million Americans have diabetes—with one in four people unaware they have the disease. As the standard Western diet spreads, diabetes rates are increasing worldwide. Studies have shown that a low-fat, plant-based diet is effective in both preventing and reversing diabetes. The conference gathers speakers from around the world to present information on the causes of diabetes, the critical role of nutrition, and the priorities in diabetes research.
Physicians, dietitians, nurses, and other health care professionals who attend the conference are eligible for continuing education credits.
