Share Vegan Success Stories with the World

PCRM receives countless e-mails and letters from people who have transformed their health with a vegan diet. Success Stories on PCRM.org is the new place to read about them and get inspired, learn how to try out a vegan diet, and share your lifesaving plant-based health makeover.

The Success Stories interactive map allows visitors to find people in their area and across the globe who have participated in the 21-Day Vegan Kickstart or used one of PCRM’s many nutrition resources to reverse diabetes, lose weight, or experience dozens of other health benefits. Their motivational transformations—often featuring before-and-after photos and video—are also searchable by type of success.

Visitors who are inspired can use the Success Stories nutrition resources and recipes to get started on a vegan diet and soon share their message of improved health.

Harold Ward for Vegan Success StoriesHarold Ward of Byron Bay, Australia, learned about a plant-based diet when he read 21-Day Weight Loss Kickstart by PCRM president Neal Barnard, M.D. “Now we feel like a million bucks!” he says.  Since he began a vegan diet, his gout that he had for more than a decade disappeared, and he was able to stop taking the medications he used to treat the disease. He and his wife also experienced weight loss and increased energy.

Beth Perera of Goshen, Vt., first learned about the benefits of a vegan diet when she read Skinny Bitch by Kickstart coach Rory Freedman. Then she watched Forks Over Knives, which features PCRM president Neal Barnard, M.D. She soon purged her kitchen and never looked back. Perera eliminated her joint pain and swelling within seven months of removing dairy and other animal products from her diet. She is now a PCRM Food for Life cooking instructor.

Tovah Terranova of San Diego learned about a plant-based diet through PCRM Kickstart coach and Crazy Sexy Cancer author Kris Carr. Since then, she has participated in several PCRM Food for Life classes and says a vegan diet has helped her reverse her rheumatoid arthritis, interstitial cystitis, fibromyalgia, depression, and anxiety.
