New Vegan Diets 101 Course (Health Professionals Earn Credit!)

I’ve recently been on the road answering your questions about plant-based diets during my 21-Day Weight Loss Kickstart book tour. Now, there’s another new PCRM educational resource that will educate you on the health benefits of a vegan diet. Vegan Diets 101 is an hour-long video presentation by PCRM director of nutrition education Susan Levin, M.S., R.D., that is followed by a test at NutritionCME.org. Watch the presentation to learn:
- the definition of a vegan diet;
- how a vegan diet affects cardiovascular disease, diabetes, obesity, cancer, osteoporosis, Alzheimer’s disease, and other health conditions;
- how a vegan diet provides all of the nutrients you need, including protein, essential fatty acids, iron, zinc, calcium, vitamins D and B12;
- the facts about soy; and more.
You don’t have to be a health care professional to watch Vegan 101—but if you are, the presentation’s worth 1.0 contact hour for nurses, dietitians, and physicians.
To watch the video and test your knowledge now, register at NutritionCME.org, then click on the “Vegan Diets 101” link under “Featured CME” on the home page.
