The Fifth Annual Golden Carrot Awards

The Golden Carrot Award

PCRM introduced the Golden Carrot Awards in 2004 to reward food service professionals who have developed and implemented healthful and successful school lunch programs. The award recognizes those who offer students a range of healthy options, especially a variety of vegetarian foods and nondairy beverages.

This year’s winners will be announced soon. To find out more, please visit HealthySchoolLunches.org.

ACTION ALERT: Ask Congress for Healthy Vegetarian School Lunch Options!

I Support Healthy Food for Healthy Kids buttonEach school day, the government puts the health of students at risk with greasy hot dogs and fatty dairy products. You can change that: Sign our petition urging Congress to give students more healthful vegetarian options.

Sign the petition today at HealthySchoolLunches.org—and make sure to share the petition page with every student and concerned parent and adult you know.

Encouraging Congress to make healthful changes to the Child Nutrition Act will help lower the rates of obesity, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and cancer. If enough people tell Congress that students need healthier foods, Congress will make this positive change.
