March of Dimes Volunteer Resigns over Animal Experiments
Our campaign encouraging
the March of Dimes to end its animal experiments got a boost this spring from Fred Foshee,
a volunteer coordinator for the charity in Knox County, Tennessee. Mr. Foshee had taken on
the task of organizing other volunteers to raise money for the group. He had already
gotten 100 people involved when he received information from PCRM about some of the
disturbing animal experiments funded by the charity. He wrote a letter to the March of
Dimes explaining that he would not help to raise another penny until it redirects its
funds toward more sensible and humane research and programs.
