A New Approach to Diet and Diabetes

A Regional Continuing Education and Dinner Seminar
2.4 CE/2.0 Contact Hours

Join us for an evening dinner program to examine new information about diet and diabetes, and learn how to incorporate nutritional interventions into clinical practice.  The course will focus on the most recent evidence about vegetarian nutrition in the management of type 2 diabetes. Strategies for implementation and for medical management of patients using this approach will be explored. The course will also provide participants with practical patient-education tools for immediate use.

Educational Objectives

Upon completion of this program, participants will be able to:

1. Describe the role of specific dietary interventions in people with diabetes
2. Explain the highlights of the different studies that promote diet changes to treat diabetes
3. Outline practical strategies for prescribing diet changes

Audience

The audience for this course is physicians with an interest in diabetes and nutrition, dietitians, certified diabetes educators, physician’s assistants, and nurse practitioners.
