Grant Aleksander

The youngest of three brothers, Grant Aleksander grew up in a suburb of Baltimore, Md. He studied theater at Washington and Lee University, where he met his wife, Sherry Ramsey. After moving to New York, Aleksander briefly modeled and waited tables before landing Guiding Light in 1982. He left the show two years later, but returned twice — from 1986-91 and 1996 to 2004. The actor earned several Emmy nominations for lead actor.  He has also appeared in numerous stage productions. 

Other soap opera roles include Alec on All My Children and D.J. on Capitol. Aleksander is currently directing As the World Turns.

Grant and Sherry have been involved in animal welfare issues for over 15 years.  They work with a number of animal welfare organizations and have rescued numerous animals over the years, many of which still occupy their home.
