Alec Baldwin |  Master of Ceremonies Alec Baldwin Alec Baldwin has been a benefactor of such animal rights organizations as People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), Performing Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) and PCRM for over 15 years. Baldwin is also a supporter of various causes in the arts, childcare, the environment and other areas of public policy. Baldwin, who has starred in a variety of motion pictures, from Beetle Juice and The Hunt for Red October, to Glengarry Glen Ross and The Edge, to more currently, Running with Scissors and The Departed, can now be seen on the NBC sitcom, 30 Rock. For his performance in 30 Rock, Baldwin received the SAG and Golden Globe awards for Best Actor in a Comedy Series. Baldwin has performed on stage (A Streetcar Named Desire, Macbeth, Entertaining Mr. Sloane) and radio (Symphony Space’s Selected Shorts) in addition to his work in film and television. Baldwin has a daughter, Ireland, who herself is a devoted animal rights supporter. It is with great pleasure that Alec serves as this year’s MC for the Art of Compassion Gala, in support of his friend, Neal Barnard, the mission of PCRM itself, and all of this year’s dinner guests.  |
