PCRM’s Cruelty-Free Insulin Assay

In 2006, the cruelty-free insulin assay PCRM developed in 2004 became a best-seller. Millipore of St. Charles, Mo., now offers the cruelty-free test kit as its preferred insulin assay. Millipore has already sold enough kits using the new method to test at least 10,000 human samples. The interest generated last year by our insulin assay proves that there is a high demand in the scientific community for equipment and procedures that are animal-friendly. Thanks to PCRM, much of the diabetes research performed in American schools and laboratories last year was done without using inhumane assay kits.
