Staff Accountant
The PCRM Foundation is seeking a Staff Accountant to manage Payroll, General Ledgers and Inter-company activity for four affiliated 501(c)(3) corporations and prepare related audit schedules, as well as assist the Finance Director with special projects.
Primary Areas of Responsibility & Specific Duties:
Payroll-
- Process payroll bi-weekly
- Liaise with ADP
- Coordinate related journal entries
- Reconcile tax and employee benefit g/l accounts
- Administer Smart Benefits, Mobile Comm. Policy
- Maintain related budgets and rolling schedules
- Prepare W-2s
General Ledger-
- Responsible for reconciling all Balance Sheet G/L accounts
- Manage fixed assets and related software
- Reconcile inter-company accounts
- Prepare weekly cash report
Other-
- Prepare miscellaneous audit reports
- Take on miscellaneous projects as assigned
Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
Education-
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent
Experience-
- Minimum 3 years of Accounting (G/L and/or Payroll) experience, preferably in a non-profit setting
Skills-
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to plan multiple initiatives efficiently, work well under pressure, and meet deadlines and in a very fast-paced environment
- Extremely organized, detail oriented and neat
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to identify problems and develop solutions
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite including excellent Excel and Word skills
- Sage MIP accounting software experience a plus
- Professional skills, demeanor, and work ethic
- Ability to maintain a sense of urgency, efficiency, and flexibility

- An interest and commitment to the objectives of PCRM
- Interest in developing new competencies as needed for the responsibilities of the position
- Ability and willingness to travel to related seminars, conferences, training, meetings, etc.
- Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed
Terms of employment: Full-time in PCRM’s Washington, D.C., office (Friendship Heights neighborhood/metro)
