Staff Accountant

The PCRM Foundation is seeking a Staff Accountant to manage Payroll, General Ledgers and Inter-company activity for four affiliated 501(c)(3) corporations and prepare related audit schedules, as well as assist the Finance Director with special projects.

Primary Areas of Responsibility & Specific Duties:

 Payroll-

  • Process payroll bi-weekly
  • Liaise with ADP 
  • Coordinate related journal entries
  • Reconcile tax and employee benefit g/l accounts
  • Administer Smart Benefits, Mobile Comm. Policy
  • Maintain related budgets and rolling schedules
  • Prepare W-2s

General Ledger-

  • Responsible for reconciling all Balance Sheet G/L accounts
  • Manage fixed assets and related software
  • Reconcile inter-company accounts
  • Prepare weekly cash report

Other-

  • Prepare miscellaneous audit reports
  • Take on miscellaneous projects as assigned

 

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

Education-

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent

 Experience-

  • Minimum 3 years of Accounting (G/L and/or Payroll) experience, preferably in a non-profit setting

 Skills-

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to plan multiple initiatives efficiently, work well under pressure, and meet deadlines and in a very fast-paced environment
  • Extremely organized, detail oriented and neat
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to identify problems and develop solutions
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite including excellent Excel and Word skills
  • Sage MIP accounting software experience a plus
  • Professional skills, demeanor, and work ethic
  • Ability to maintain a sense of urgency, efficiency, and flexibility

Other Requirements-

  • A Can-Do attitude
  • An interest and commitment to the objectives of PCRM
  • Interest in developing new competencies as needed for the responsibilities of the position
  • Ability and willingness to travel to related seminars, conferences, training, meetings, etc.
  • Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed

Terms of employment: Full-time in PCRM’s Washington, D.C., office (Friendship Heights neighborhood/metro)
