Career Opportunities

Legal Fellow

The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine offers one-year fellowships in its Legal Department with the express purpose of training attorneys interested in pursuing a career in animal law. Fellowships are limited to one year in order to allow the organization the opportunity to train as many attorneys as possible over time. This is a full-time temporary position with comprehensive benefits.

The Fellow will have a unique opportunity to participate in complex, cutting-edge litigation, trial work, and appeals in various state and federal courts throughout the country.  PCRM is engaged in class actions and other types of advocacy litigation against some of the largest corporations in the United States, and against the United States government.  Each case filed, and those to be filed in the future, raise challenging constitutional, statutory, and procedural issues, many of first impression.  The Fellow will have an opportunity to work in the public interest on issues critical to the health of the American public, primarily as it pertains to plant-based nutrition and animal research, while obtaining hands-on litigation experience difficult to match in virtually any other setting.

The Fellow will work closely, as part of a litigation team, with the other five lawyers in the Legal Department on all aspects of the organization’s legal efforts. The Fellow will also be expected to develop and help implement new, precedent-setting legal campaigns in support of PCRM’s missions.
