PCRM Operations Management Internship

PCRM’s Office Services team is responsible for the operational aspects of PCRM’s 14,000 square foot office space, residential guest house, and off-site storage facility. The efficient management of these facilities is vital to PCRM’s ability to win our campaigns and run our life-saving programs.

The Operations Management Intern will work with the Facilities Manager and Office Services team members on project management, meeting and office support, supply requisition, vendor relations, telecommunications, system and property operation and maintenance, and office relocations and set-ups. The intern will also have the opportunity to gain experience with the implementation of green office policies by serving on PCRM’s Eco-Club, an inter-departmental team within PCRM dedicated to greening our workplace. This internship is a wonderful opportunity for students enrolled in a Facilities Management program or those looking to gain preparatory experience for obtaining the Facilities Management Professional (FMP) credential through the International Facilities Management Association (IFMA), to learn more about facilities management at a non-profit organization while making a valuable contribution to PCRM’s mission.

Qualifications:

  • Strong interest in learning about operations and facilities management at a nonprofit organization
  • Enthusiasm for PCRM’s mission to promote plant-based diets and alternatives to the use of animals in research, training, and testing

Terms: PCRM is located in the Metro-accessible Friendship Heights neighborhood in Washington, D.C. This unpaid volunteer internship is not available as employment. Free housing accommodations near the PCRM office may be available if needed. PCRM will assist interns in obtaining course credit if applicable. Start and end dates are flexible. The ideal intern will be available for 10-20 hours per week.
